Access Genealogy Databases:
These databases only accessible
from inside the Library building.
Our Mission: is to provide a Genealogical Society for the community, to encourage and stimulate interest in genealogical research and to provide a center for the exchange of genealogical information and help.
Meeting: We meet in the Community Room of the Temecula Public Library, located at 30600 Pauba Road, Temecula. General Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month, except on library holidays. In those cases, the meetings are always rescheduled on an alternate Monday.
Meeting time: Beginner & Brick Wall Class starting at 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., offered to anyone wanting additional help and assistance. The TVGS General Meeting starts at 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Each meeting features a Guest Speaker on genealogical related subjects.
Library Equipment: Two dedicated computers are available in the Genealogical Section of the Temecula Public Library along with a Digital Microfilm Viewer-Scanner.
Library Collection:
The collection consists of genealogical books, including the following databases: a CD database, plus the New England Historic Genealogy, Ancestry Library, Culture Grams Online, Heritage Quest Online. Also available are genealogical software applications for Family Tree Maker, Legacy, PAF and AniMap.
How to get Started: Society volunteers are available to help members get started on their family research. You may contact the Temecula Valley Genealogical Society Librarian for an appointment.
Computer Users Group: TVGS sponsors a computer users group, which meets the 3rd Friday each month in the Community Room of the Temecula Public Library, to discuss genealogical software and research on the Internet. All are welcome to attend.
Society Activities: The Society organizes several special activities each year, including trips to other Libraries, Seminars, Workshops and other events of interest to Genealogists.
Membership: Includes the right to vote and hold office; a subscription to the Society newsletter, notification of current events, genealogical activities, and access to the Genealogical Collection housed at the Temecula Public Library.
