The Children’s Library is a colorful and inviting place designed to stimulate developing minds and young imaginations! The Story Balloon provides an enchanting setting for Preschool Storytime (ages 3-5 years) and Toddler Storytime (ages 24 – 35 months), which introduce young children to the joys of books and storytelling and help foster reading readiness. Other outstanding programs for families include free educational and entertaining programs on a host of interesting subjects, a Goodnight Moon Pajama Storytime, a Bilingual Storytime and a Summer Reading Program. Families may relax and read in the outdoor Children’s Garden which includes a bubbling boulder water feature and colorful tile mural.
The Children’s collection includes board books for babies, picture books, beginning readers, fiction for recreational reading, magazines, materials in Spanish and several Asian languages, recorded books, compact discs, dvds and nonfiction and reference books to meet the educational needs of school age children. The Children’s Library also features 4 library catalogs, 7 internet computers, Live Homework Help by Tutor.com, special computer keyboards for preschool children, educational software, a parenting section, puzzles, puppets, interactive displays and a friendly staff who love children and truly believe that “the sky’s the limit!”
